The pie charts below show the brand-wise sales distribution of phones among five brands. The total sales in 2000 and 2001 are Rs. 1.2 lakhs and Rs. 1.5 lakhs respectively. Values in the first and second chart are in percentages and degrees respectively.

By what percent have the sales of Samsung grown from 2000 to 2001?

Options

  1. a.

    50%

  2. b.

    33.33%

  3. c.

    66.67%

    Correct answer
  4. d.

    40%

Explanation

Samsung (in 2000) = 30% of 120000

Rs. 36,000

Samsung (in 2001) = (144/360) × 150000

Rs. 60,000

Growth in sales = 60000 - 36000

Rs. 24,000

% increase = (24000/36000) x 100

66.67%

Hence, option ‘c’.
